What is EU GREEN ?

We are a transnational Alliance of nine European universities aiming to be Your Gateway to Sustainability. We are peripheral and regionally anchored, while globally oriented, that is why we are strategically aligned for the engagement with all of the European regions.

What is the Work Package 3 – Research?

EU GREEN’s third work package is dedicated to Research. It is led by the University of Angers (France) and co-led by the University of Parma (Italy).

The WP3 is subdivided as follows:

• The Joint Research Commission: composed of the vice-rectors of research, it is the decision-making body of the WP3. One of their task was for instance to draft the bill of specification for the seed funding and the researhcer mobility program, and to proceed to the selection of the laureates. 
• 6 thematic clusters, which are groups of researchers sharing a common interest :

• • Cluster 1 - Emerging paradigms for health and well-being
  • Cluster 2 - Agriculture, food, and environmental sustainability
  • Cluster 3 - Engineering and technology for sustainable development
  • Cluster 4 - Sustainable tourism for cultural and natural heritage
  • Cluster 5 - Education sciences for sustainable development
  • Cluster 6 - Challenges in ecosystem biodiversity and function. A macroregional evaluation.

Please note that these clusters are not closed boxes: they can and should welcome transversal thematics that do not appear in their names. 

• A European taskforce, composed of the European officers from all the alliance’s universities. They can help in the preparation of application for Europeans propjects such as MSCA, Horizon Europe, etc.
•  A PhD Council, a network of the heads of doctoral education. This body was created in November 2023 and another meeting is scheduled at the end of January.
