Brokerage event
What are brokerage events? Brokerage events are a form of partner search and consortium building. This matchmaking event is a quick and easy way to meet potential cooperation partners. Ahead of the meeting, participants profiles will be uploaded, expertise offers and cooperation ideas. As part of Research Week, a key event for research within the EU GREEN alliance, Work Package 3 – Research is organising a networking event for alliance researchers on 3 June with the aim of facilitating the formation of consortia for the future Horizon Europe 2027 calls.
1. Objective of the session
This meeting aims to:
- bring together potential EU GREEN applicants for the 2027 Horizon Europe calls.
- give each participant a short speaking time to introduce themselves.
- highlight the skills, experience and possible contributions to projects.
- identify opportunities for collaboration and consortia between alliance members.
2. Why participate?
- get the latest information from the European Commission
- build quality partnerships
- facilitate the setup of project consortia for Horizon Europe calls
- discuss and develop new project ideas at European level
- acquire new cross-border contacts and initiate collaboration
- promote your research results, technologies and know-how
3. General procedure
Step 1 – Teaser pitch in 5 parallel workshops (45')
30–45 seconds per presenter
One mandatory slide
8–12 pitches max
Objective: “This is who I am / what I am looking for”
15 minutes break before next session
Step 2 – Parallel thematic sessions (1h)
(5 rooms x 25 people) with support of ETF members
15–25 people max
Discussions following pitches
Step 3 - One-to-one meetings (1h): allowing participants to identify relevant partners and engage in targeted discussions aimed at building Horizon Europe consortia
4. Format of pitch presentations
- Duration per presentation: 3 to 5 minutes maximum
- Support: 1 slide (PDF or PPT). Template available here.
5. Expected content of each pitch
- Each speaker is invited to structure their presentation around the following points:
- Target Horizon Europe 2027 call(s)
- What the speaker can bring to a consortium (expertise, networks, fields, tools, coordination skills, etc.)
- What the speaker is looking for (partner profile, types of institutions, countries, disciplines, complementary skills)
- Contact details for further discussion after the session
The idea is that, in a few minutes, the other participants can understand who you are, which calls you wish to apply for, and what type of contribution and partners you are looking for.
