Launch of the EU GREEN Personal Development Mentorship Programme

The EU GREEN alliance has launched its Personal Development Mentorship Programme, a new pilot initiative developed by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Research Leads, Dr Richéal Burns and Dr George Onofrei.

This programme is designed to foster a strong and supportive EU GREEN community by creating meaningful connections between researchers and academics across the alliance. Through mentorship, participants will have the opportunity to enhance personal and professional development, share knowledge, and strengthen collaboration within EU GREEN.

Who can take part?

The programme is open to all academics, researchers and PhD candidates across the alliance. Depending on your strengths and areas for improvement, you can apply to become a mentor, a mentee, or even both. The goal is to create partnerships based on expertise and learning needs, not on job titles or seniority, ensuring that everyone has the chance to learn and to share.

How it works

• Mentors will be matched with mentees based on their expertise and the areas of support identified.
• Mentees will receive guidance from experienced academics and researchers to help them achieve their goals.
• The mentees and their mentors will agree on meeting arrangements as they progress to ensure a tailored experience 
• The programme includes regular networking events, both in person and online, over the next year.
• A presentation session will be held during the EU GREEN Researcher Week in Magdeburg in June 2026.

Expressions of interest are now open until 15 September 2025.

The programme will start in September 2025 and run for one year.
