EIC Pathfinder Open & EIC Pathfinder Challenges

The EIC Pathfinder Open (deadline 21 May 2025) and EIC Pathfinder Challenges (deadline 29 October 2025) programmes are open for applications.

The EIC Pathfinder Open programme supports projects in any fields of science, technology or application without predefined thematic priorities, while the EIC Pathfinder Challenges programme supports coherent portfolios of projects within predefined thematic areas with the aim to achieve specific objectives for each challenge.

For both programmes, the application is approximately 20 pages, a small consortium (ideally 4 to 7 partners) is required and TRL could range from 1 to 4. The chances of success with this programmes are significantly higher than with Horizon applications and require way less work, making them a really good opportunity for many of us.
