Our research in 10 minutes - Proof of concept
On 11/12, Cluster 6, dedicated to challenges in ecosystem biodiversity and function tried a first edition of an "Our research in 10 minutes" online event in order for researchers to introduce their topics and to present possible internships.
The researchers who presented their topics were:
- Victor Rolo (University of Extremadura, Spain) presented the Forest Research group from the University of Extramadura.
- Jacek Urbaniak (Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland), presented the botany and plant ecology department which he is head of, with a focus on molecular ecology.
- Alain Pagano (University of Angers, France), presented the research unit "Biodiversité dans l’Anthropocène : Dynamique, Fonction et Gestion" for which he is deputy director.
- Diana Cupsa (University of Oradea, Romania) presented the Department of Biology from the University of Oradea for whoch she is chief director.
- Jose Farina (Atlantic Technological University, Ireland) presented the "Biogenic habitats and restorative aquaculture lab"
A whole class attended the presentation online from Parma: Students from : III year, Bachelor level, Natural and Environmetal Sciences, a class given by Alessandro Petraglia, professor in Ecology at Parma University. Three of the students had just returned from the University of Extramadura where they had an internship with Victor Rolo, leader of cluster 6. Their presence was very welcome and they were asked many questions.The students appreciated the event and asked for more.
30 people were connected online, of which 20 were students and more than 50 were in the classroom.
